Ask people where the market leading manufacturer of buoyancy
products for the oil industry is based, and Skelmersdale in West
Lancashire wouldn't automatically spring to mind - as we have no
coast!
CRP Marine Ltd have been based in Skelmersdale for the past 21
years, and recently doubled the size of their premises on Stanley
in a £3 million expansion which created over 30 new jobs. The
company was supported through a £510,000 Regional Selective
Assistance (RSA) grant which was secured with support from the
District Council's EDU.
Customers for the bespoke plastic products designed and
manufactured by CRP Marine Ltd include well-known names such as BP,
Amico and Shell. Over 60% of the company's products are exported
and they hold a Queens Award for outstanding export
performance.
"The District Council's (grant) support was invaluable, and they
offered pragmatism, prompt responses and hard work to help us carry
the project forward," explained Andrew Tyrer, Managing Director of
CRP Marine Ltd. "We're looking forward to continuing our long
association with Skelmersdale."
