Chance for first guided tour of Hunter's
Hill
Discover the beauty of a new woodland site on a special guided
tour.
Walkers will have an opportunity to see the breathtaking beauty of
Hunter's Hill, in Hilldale, near Parbold, during a one-hour public
stroll around the site on 13th April, starting 2pm.
Hunters Hill is an old quarry that had been reclaimed by the
Council to turn into a public open space. Work has just finished to
make the most of its beautiful woodlands, shrubs and rock faces by
creating footpaths, wheelchair access, seating and picnic areas as
well as various viewpoints.
Now on 13th April the Council's countryside rangers will show
visitors its beauty spots and talk about the history of the site
during the short, guided walk before it is officially opened to the
public.
Chairman of the Council, Cllr May Blake, will also join walkers at
the event.
Dave Tilleray, Executive Manager for Community Services, said:
"Visitors who take part in this free guided tour of the site will
be able to wander through the woodlands and discover the hidden
wildlife as well as take in the extraordinary views of the
coastline. Make sure you come along to be one of the first to
experience this new countryside site."
The rangers are also setting up a 'Friends of Hunter's Hill' group
to help with conservation and maintenance works. They will be
asking for volunteers during this guided walk.
The event is free and is suitable for all age groups but all
children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Don't
forget to wear suitable clothing.
Anyone who would like to take part in this event and would like
more information can contact the rangers on 01695 622794. For any

On section.<>
