Last chance for youngsters to exhibit their
artwork!
Talented youngsters with a creative flair only have weeks left
to show a piece of artwork for possible inclusion at this year's
Youth Open Exhibition.
For the second year running Ormskirk's Chapel Gallery are giving
young artists of all abilities the unique opportunity to submit
their work for selection towards a final exhibition.
But time is ticking away as the deadline for entries is Wednesday
26th September. Judges will then select the best pieces for an
exhibition in the Gallery, which will run from 6th October to 17th
November.
> Application forms available until 26 September from the
'documents' panel on the right
Telling Tales is the theme for this year's Youth Open. Artistic
children aged between 8 to 18 years old are being encouraged to
submit a piece of work inspired by the use of narrative and
storytelling in art, to show a book cover illustrating the story.
They can enter their pieces ranging from paintings, drawings, 3D,
collage, photography and textiles.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "Modelled on
our popular West Lancashire Open Exhibition for adults, the Youth
Open gives youngsters a fantastic chance to showcase their talents.
We ran it for the first time last year and it was so successful
that we wanted to do it again. But there's not long left before the
deadline so hurry and pick up an application form to submit your
work before it's too late!"
Anyone who would like to enter should download an application form
from the 'documents' panel on teh right (available until 26
September), contact Chapel Gallery on 01695 571328, email chapelgallery@westlancsdc.gov.uk
or pop into the Gallery, which is situated on St Helens Road,
Ormskirk. Application forms should include name, age, address,
contact details, email, and the type of media used.
