Taking art back to its roots
For the next Junior Rangers' event on the 1 September, kids will
be taking art back to basics using entirely natural materials
collected from the grounds of Beacon Country Park.
Youngsters can let their imaginations run wild, creating unique
artworks using twigs and woodland objects. Bending and weaving the
materials into weird and wonderful sculptures, picture frames or
anything they can dream up.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, said: "This
is a great way for children to really use their imagination and get
their creative juices flowing - they even get to take their
masterpieces home with them."
This event will take place from 2pm to 4pm at Beacon Country Park,
Up Holland, and is free.
The Junior Rangers' Club is for children up to the aged of 13. All
are welcome but children under 8 must be accompanied by an
adult.
The Club is run by the Council's Countryside Rangers and the group
meets at Beacon Country Park in Up Holland in the afternoon of the
first Saturday of every month.
Parents who would like more information about the Junior Rangers
Club can call the Countryside Rangers on 01695 622794, email
