We want your views
West Lancashire District Council is inviting everyone to take
part in consultation over the district's licensing policy for pubs,
clubs, entertainment venues and late night food premises.
From the 1 August to the 31 October 2007 the Council wants local
residents to tell us their views on the Act, to ensure it fully
reflects the needs of everyone in the district.
The policy is updated every 3 years and the suggested changes to
the document can be viewed on the Licensing section. Here you will also find an
online comments form where you can log your opinions and
ideas.
The Council will also be writing to representatives of the licensed
trade, other local businesses, the police and fire services,
members of the Council's Crime Reduction Partnership, legal
specialists, residents' groups and cultural organisations to try
and get feedback from a broad spectrum of the community.
Cllr John Baldock, Portfolio Holder for Licensing, said: "Public
feedback is vital if we are to achieve our objectives and further
enhance our licensing policy. I really hope that everyone will use
the opportunity to read the document changes and let us know their
views on the matter, as we would welcome everyone's comments and
suggestions."
Free information leaflets giving details of the Act and how to make
comments are also available from all Council Offices.
Hard copies of the document are available by calling our Licensing
Team on 01695 585015. You can also contact Licensing or send
comments via the team's email: licensing.enquiries@westlancsdc.gov.uk
or by writing into: Public Protection and Licensing Manager, West
Lancashire District Council, Westec house, Derby Street, Ormskirk,
West Lancashire, L39 2DQ.
Further information can also be found on the Licensing section.
