Blooming good fun
As part of the next Junior Rangers' Club event on Saturday 3 March
youngsters will be having lots of fun helping to brighten up Beacon
Country Park.
The group will be planting colourful spring bulbs around the
grounds of the park, learning how to identify different bulbs and
how to plant them so that they thrive and sprout beautiful
colourful blooms.
Cllr David Westley, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said:
"This is a really fun way for children to learn how to identify
different varieties of bulbs and it will be great when they come
back to see the park in full bloom as a result of their hard
work."
This event will take place from 2pm to 4pm at Beacon Country Park,
Up Holland, and is free.
The Junior Rangers' Club (incorporating the Wildlife Watch Club) is
for children up to the aged of 13. All are welcome but children
under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Club is run by the Council's Countryside Rangers and the group
meets at Beacon Country Park in Up Holland in the afternoon of the
first Saturday of every month.
Parents who would like more information about the Junior Rangers
Club can call the Countryside Rangers on 01695 622794 or email
