Calling all Birch Green residents - get involved in the
community
Residents have a great opportunity to get involved in the District
Council's popular Birch Green Hall- Community Resource
Centre.
Locals are being encouraged to attend a General Meeting at Birch
Green Hall - Community Resource Centre (Hartland). Tuesday 27th
February, starting 7pm.
The event is to adopt a new Constitution and to elect a Voluntary
Management Committee who will operate the Centre on a day-to-day
basis with the support of District Council Officers.
The Committee will look to organise activities and events which
meet with the needs of the local community.
Cllr David Westley, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said:
"Birch Green Hall is a fantastic facility that is there for all
ages to enjoy and we want to encourage members of the community to
get involved and help operate and manage the facility. By becoming
a Committee member you can be the voice of the community."
"So if you have a couple of hours to spare a month and want to help
shape new activities for your community, then why not come along
and put your name forward for the committee. Support will be
provided and training available"
The new Constitution will soon be available, copies of which may
obtained from the Centre, tel 01695 733080 and on the District
Council's website.
