Nominate your favourite building for design
awards
Do you have a favourite development that you feel enhances the
environment you live in? Then why not put it forward for a
prestigious award.

Nominations are being invited for the 2007 West Lancashire
Design Awards, which are run by the District Council and sponsored
by the Government's national regeneration agency, English
Partnerships.
Run every two years, they are aimed at promoting the importance of
good quality planned development and building design across the
district and focus on community, economic and environmental
regeneration.
This year's schemes will be judged in the following categories: New
residential, refurbishment or conversion of existing buildings,
commercial or community schemes and landscaping schemes.
Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Regeneration,
said: "I would encourage everyone to take this opportunity to
nominate their favourite buildings. The Council is committed to
encouraging good design work across the district and these awards
are an excellent way to acknowledge and celebrate the best
developments in West Lancashire."
"Our thanks must once again go to English Partnerships for their
sponsorship of the event. As a result of their continued support
the scheme has gained a much higher profile and has become a
prestigious award to receive."

shelter in Scarisbrick, for its innovative design.
