Party popper for Chairman's Charities
2006's festive season has paid off for West Lancashire's Chairman
following a Christmas cash windfall from Council staff.
Employees from the District Council have raised £500 for the
Chairman's charities from their annual Christmas staff party.
The money was raised via ticket sales and also from the raffle that
took place at the popular event.
It will now be added to the continually growing cash pot to help
the Chairman Cllr May Blake's three chosen charities, which are the
British Heart Foundation, Air Ambulance and West Lancs
Jospice.
May said: "I had a brilliant time at the annual staff Christmas
bash at Ormskirk Civic Hall and it was great to spend time
informally with so many Council employees who also seemed to really
enjoy themselves. It was a fantastic night and I'd just like to
thank everyone who came along for making the event so enjoyable and
for helping to raise so much money. I'd also particularly like to
thank our Sports Development Manager Yvonne Gagen and her team for
organising the event, catering, DJ and for putting on such a fun
party."
