Kick About this summer

School's almost out for summer so youngsters in Skelmersdale can
gear up for the exciting programme of outdoor sports on offer
during the holidays.
West Lancashire District Council's Sports Development Team has
organised a number of activities to take place at the local
kick-about areas in Birch Green, Tanhouse, Digmoor, Little Digmoor
and Inglewhite.
Children will have a chance to try out football, basketball,
dodgeball, kwik cricket, rounders and other games over the school
break.
The free sessions are on at each of the sites every Monday Tuesday
and Wednesday, starting 30th July until 22nd August. They run from
10am to 12noon and then 1pm to 3pm.
Young people who attend at least one of the days each week will be
eligible to go on exciting trip every Friday for a small
charge.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "With the
school summer holidays just around the corner, parents are probably
already panicking about how they will keep their children occupied
during the long break. But there's no need to worry because the
District Council has put on an array of activities during the
break, including these outdoor kick-about sessions. They are a
great way to spend the holidays getting fit, taking part in
friendly games and making new friends at the same time. To find out
more about what's on during the holidays, please visit the
Events section."
You can find the kickabouts at by the play area in Inglewhite, at
Fairhaven in Birch Green and next to the community centres in
