Council's legal eagles soar to success
Legal minds at West Lancashire District Council are celebrating
being shortlisted for the prestigious Liverpool Law Society Award
for Corporate Team of the Year 2007.
As one of only three teams to make the final, the District Council
is delighted to be recognised alongside Brabners and DLA, who are
big names in the legal world.
To be shortlisted with such notable companies is, in itself, a
fantastic achievement but the Council is also revelling in the fact
that it is the only local authority to make the Liverpool Law
Society finals - which is a great accolade for the legal
team.
Gill Rowe, Council Secretary and Solicitor at West Lancashire
District Council, said: "Often the work of the legal department is
behind the scenes so I am thrilled that the hard work of our staff
has been recognised by these esteemed awards.
Cllr Geoff Roberts, Leader of the Council, said: "We are up against
some stiff competition for the award but to be shortlisted in the
top three is a great achievement and speaks volumes about the
quality of our legal team here at the Council.
"The official awards ceremony is on 9 June and, should our legal
team go on to win, this would really be the icing on the cake
