Opportunities for artists to get their work
noticed!
Artists and contemporary craft makers in West Lancashire who
want to raise their profile and get their work noticed should
attend a special networking event.
The next meeting of the West Lancashire Artists' Network is on
Thursday 14th June between 7.30pm and 9.00pm at Ormskirk's Chapel
Gallery, St Helens Road.
It is aimed at creative individuals who want to have their artwork
seen by galleries, retail outlets and those looking to commission
works.
The event is an excellent opportunity for professional artists and
ambitious amateurs to find out more about upcoming creative
projects, sales events and exhibition opportunities available
locally, throughout the region and nationally.
It's also a great way for talented, like-minded people to share
their ideas and discuss their own artwork.
During the event, West Lancashire District Council's Arts
Development Team will discuss the projects and initiatives
happening locally, the type of funding opportunities available for
artists and procedures for submitting work for exhibition. They
will also discuss the West Lancashire Annual Open Exhibition 2007,
which is run by Chapel Gallery and is a fantastic opportunity for
artists of all capabilities to exhibit their own works of
art.
Councillor Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "In West
Lancashire, we actively encourage the personal development of
artists, which is why we facilitate the network. It's a great way
for artists to keep up to date with the latest developments and to
seek advice on how to progress. It's also a nice opportunity to
meet other creative individuals based in the area and discuss work
and ideas in a friendly, informal environment. I would encourage
anyone who is interested in current art developments and wants to
raise their profile to come along."
The event is free and light refreshments will be provided. For more
details please contact the Gallery on 01695 571328 or visit the
Chapel Gallery
