Summer solstice
Celebrate the longest day of the year by joining West Lancashire
District Council's Countryside Rangers for a scenic evening stroll
on Thursday 21 June.
The 3 - 4km walk will be lead by the Countryside Rangers around the
picturesque grounds of Beacon Country Park.
Whilst enjoying the colourful summer scenery the group will have
the opportunity to learn all about the importance of the
solstice.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, said: "What
a delightful way to spend a summer evening. The solstice is an
important time in nature's busy calendar and this walk provides
people with the chance to learn more about what goes on whilst
stretching their legs and enjoying a relaxed evening amble."
If you would like to take part, meet West Lancashire District
Council's Countryside Rangers at the Ranger Station, Beacon Country
Park, Up Holland, starting 7pm.
Don't forget to wear suitable clothing and footwear. The event is
free and is suitable for all age groups but children under 16 years
old must be accompanied by an adult.
