Tourism attractions in double click time

Summer is just around the corner, so to find out what West
Lancashire has to offer at the touch of a button, visit the
Tourism
section.
If you're looking for things to do, the popular 'Visitor Guide
2007' is online and makes it quick and easy for residents/tourists
to find out about the wonderful attractions across the
district
It features stories of towns and villages steeped in history and
tales of enchanting local legends. It covers great country escapes,
places of fun for all the family, coastal contrasts, where to stay,
wining and dining, and events taking place in 2007.
Popular attractions in the brochure include Ormskirk Market,
Wildlife Trust's Mere Sands Wood, The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust
Martin Mere, Farmer Ted's Farm Park, Windmill Animal Farm, The West
Lancashire Light Railway, Scarisbrick Hall, The National Trust's
Rufford Old Hall, Beacon Country Park, Chapel Gallery, the Ribble
Coast, the winding Leeds and Liverpool canal, its barges and
attractive locks with various landmark pubs alongside the tow path
and many more.
For the first time ever this year's new-look guide features 'did
you know' snippets that reveal interesting information. There's
also a great tourist map inside too, to help people plan where to
visit.
Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Planning,
said: "From its historic market town and ancient buildings to the
unspoilt beautiful countryside, traditional villages with Viking
legends and upmarket restaurants, West Lancashire has a striking
contrast of places to suit all tastes. So to find out about places
to visit, where to stay, dining out, shopping and about various
events, visit the Tourism section for your copy of the
Guide."
For those who can't print copies, it can be ordered online. Those
who don't have access to the Internet, can request a copy on 01695
585128.
