Easter egg-travaganza at Chapel Gallery

Melt away all that Easter holiday boredom by joining in one of
the creative workshops at Chapel Gallery.
During the Easter school break, the Gallery in Ormskirk is hosting
a number of fun and friendly classes to keep children entertained
during the school break.
The holiday activities are aimed at 8 to 13 year olds, who will
have the chance to learn some new skills by working alongside
professional artists to make lots of different, inventive
artworks.
The first workshop is on Monday 2nd April when artist Andy Shaw
will teach children the techniques of drawing Manga style
robots.
A stitch in time is the theme on Wednesday 4th April when artist
Sharon Kelly will show children how to create colourful, seasonal
textiles using an assortment of materials.
Then on Wednesday 11th April children can design and build their
own junk model superhero with professional artist Mathew
Roby.
The final workshop is on Friday 13th April when professional felt
maker Christine Branch will demonstrate to youngsters how to make
crazy headgear from felt.
Cllr David Westley, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said:
"Once again the Gallery has put on a number of exciting workshops
that allow children show their creative side in a friendly
atmosphere, led by professional artists. It's a great opportunity
for youngsters to make some fantastic artwork and make friends too.
So hurry to book a place because spaces are limited."
All holiday activities will run from 10am till 4pm, with one hour
for lunch from 12 noon to 1pm. Children can either stay for packed
lunch or be met by an adult to go home for lunch, which must be
confirmed when booking a place.
Children must also wear appropriate clothing for their
activity.
Places are limited for each of the activities, so book early to
avoid disappointment by contacting Chapel Gallery on 01695 571328.
It's £5 for Manga Robots, £7 for A Stitch In Time, and £9 for Scrap
Yard Superheroes and Mad Hatters, which cover the costs of the
materials. Payment must be made and a consent form filled out prior
to the session in order to secure the place.
