Step into spring with the Countryside
Rangers

Celebrate the start of spring with the District Council's
Countryside Rangers by joining them for their popular equinox walk
on Wednesday 21 March.
Walkers will be able to enjoy a leisurely stroll around the grounds
of Beacon Country Park before striding out to Ashurst Beacon where,
weather permitting, they will be rewarded will fantastic panoramic
views of the sun setting over the surrounding countryside.
Cllr David Westley, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said:
"The equinox only happens twice a year and marks the occasion when
day and night are of equal length. The March equinox is
particularly important as it highlights the start of spring - a
time of much activity for our natural environment. What better way
is there to celebrate the start of the nights drawing out, than to
enjoy an early evening stroll with our Rangers?"
The event will last 2 to 3 hours and to take part meet the West
Lancashire District Council's Countryside Rangers at the Ranger's
Station at Beacon Country Park at 4pm. Please wear suitable
clothing and sturdy footwear.
The event is free and is suitable for all age groups but children
under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
