Top marks for customer services

West Lancashire District Council prides itself on offering
excellent customer service and now - thanks to a team of
hardworking staff - things have just got even better!
The whole team of 20 Customer Service Advisors and Assistants, who
answer phone calls from customers and deal with visitors to the
Council offices and the Customer Service Point in the Concourse,
Skelmersdale, are taking National Vocational Qualifications ( NVQs)
to boost their skills.
Eleven members of the team have already qualified at level 2 or 3
in Customer Services, and the others will soon be finishing their
course.
Cllr Geoff Roberts, Leader of the Council, said: "It is a mark of
how dedicated our customer service advisors and assistants are that
they have used their own time to work toward these qualifications.
Not only is it great for their personal development but it will
also enhance the service that our customers receive."
