Continental treats are here again!
The Continental Market will be lining the streets of Ormskirk town
centre once again, on 18 and 20 May 2007.
The ever-popular market will be offering a whole host of delights
from across the continent, with traders from France, Belgium, Italy
and Portugal selling mouth watering foods and original goods -
often hand crafted by the traders themselves.
Stalls will include everything from fresh breads and patisseries,
to cheeses, sun ripened olives and fine wines and ciders.
Traditional 'tartiflette' - a hot French dish made of potatoes,
Reblochon cheese, smoked bacon and herbs, will also be available.
Or, if you fancy something a bit sweeter, homemade biscuits,
sweets, chocolates and freshly cooked crepes will also be there to
tempt you.
In addition to all these delights, there will also be an exciting
selection of leather goods, soaps and perfumes, rugs and
pottery.
Les Abernethy, the District Council's Deputy Chief Executive, said:
"The Continental Market is becoming a regular attraction in
Ormskirk Town Centre and its popularity just keeps on
growing."
"It really does make a great trip out and with so much on offer
there is sure to be something to tempt everyone. So why not come
along and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the
Continental Market."
Future dates for your diary include 7 and 9 December when the
Continental Market will return just in time for Christmas. For more
