Have your say on Garnett Lees Conservation
Area
West Lancashire District Council is inviting residents to give
their views on an important review of Garnett Lees Conservation
Area in Up Holland.
The appraisal is designed to identify if any changes need to be
made to the present conservation area boundary and sets out the
historical context of the area, identifying the buildings, places
and features that make it special and, most importantly, how these
important historic areas can best be preserved and enhanced.
Letters will be going out to residents in the area containing
details of the proposals. A public exhibition has also been
arranged to give the wider community the opportunity to
comment.
The exhibition will take place on Wednesday 6th June between 3.00pm
and 7.30pm at The Plough and Harrow Hotel, Ormskirk Road, where
residents will be able to talk to Council Officers and examine
copies of the appraisal documents.
Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: "I would
encourage all local resident to take to opportunity to visit this
exhibition as it is an excellent chance not only to express your
views on the area appraisal but also to learn about the history of
how Garnett Lees has developed of the years."
Written comments must be received by the Council by 18 June 2007.
Responses will then be reported to the Council's Cabinet later in
the year before a final decision will be taken on whether to adopt
the appraisal document.
