Lets go fly a kite...
Excitement will be
soaring to the highest heights at the next Junior Rangers' Club
event on Saturday 2 June.
Youngsters will be able to join in the fun of the popular Kite and
Outdoor Sports Festival, which coincides with the monthly Junior
Rangers' meeting.
Rangers will show children how to make their own colourful kites
and then later in the afternoon they will be able to put their own
creations, and their kite flying skills, to the test.
The kite making event will take place from 2pm to 4pm at Beacon
Country Park, Up Holland, and is free. To take part meet at the
Ranger Station.
Youngsters can still enjoy the Kite and Outdoor Sports Festival,
which is on both Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 June from 11am to
5pm.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "This event
promises to be lots of fun for the young Rangers. Not only can they
watch the professionals at work and enjoy all the excitement of the
festival, but they also get the chance to make and fly their own
kite."
The Junior Rangers' Club is run by the Council's Countryside
Rangers for children up to the age of 13. All are welcome but
children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
