Offering you more
The District Council's
customer service point at the Concourse, Skelmersdale is now
offering you even more.
Until recently, first time travel concession customers had to make
a special journey to Ormskirk to collect concessions but now, as a
service improvement, residents can apply for their travel tokens,
rail pass or Nowcard bus pass from the customer service point in
Skelmersdale.
This is a special facility for first time claimants. Anyone who
wants to renew their existing concession can do so by the Council's
quick and easy postal service and will receive a form directly when
it is time to renew their existing concession.
Cllr Geoff Roberts, Leader of the District Council, said: "The
customer service point in Skelmersdale provides information about
all the Council's work and gives access to a wide range of
services. The addition of this new facility to apply for first time
travel concessions is fantastic and a real boon for local
residents."
Cllr Owens, Portfolio Holder for Finance, said: "I am pleased that
residents local to Skelmersdale, who are collecting their first
time travel concessions, will no longer have to make a special
journey to Ormskirk. Instead they can simply drop into the CSP
while they are out shopping - great news."
Transfers or surrendering of travel concessions will continue to be
dealt with by the Revenue and Payments team based at the Council's
main office in Ormksirk.
Some time restrictions may apply. For further information or advice
about travel concessions call 01695 577177 or alternatively visit
the Travel
Concessions section.
