People's Panel is now recruiting
Do you have views about the services the Council provides? Would
you like your opinions to have an impact on how the Council
works?
If so, then watch out for the post because West Lancashire District
Council is writing to households across the district to invite
residents to join the People's Panel.
Around 10,000 recruitment packs are being issued. Residents who
agree to join the People's Panel will be asked to complete surveys
about Council services two or three times a year.
Kim Webber, Assistant Chief Executive, said: "It is important for
the Council to keep in touch with what local people think, and
gather their views about our services. The People's Panel helps us
to find out if we are providing the services that people want and
to gather the information we need to make improvements."
"The People's Panel has been a huge success since it was first set
up in 2001 and the information we have gathered has helped us make
many improvements and win funding for new initiatives."
"We are now recruiting new members for the Panel to give more
people the chance to take part and it is hoped that residents will
agree to help the Council. It won't take up much of your time so if
you receive a recruitment pack don't throw it away - please fill it
in and send it back."
Each recruitment pack contains information about the People's Panel
and a questionnaire which people are asked to return in the
Freepost envelope provided.
The People's Panel is a key way in which the Council gathers the
views of local people. Other methods include the annual Council
Meeting as an Assembly, consultation via the web site, surveys of
general satisfaction and questionnaires to users of particular
services.
