Council's winning website strikes again
Our website is celebrating being commended in the prestigious Avenza Awards for Electronic Mapping.

Already officially rated as the best district website in the country, the council's winning web pages are continuing to go from strength to strength.

Working closely with Global Mapping UK, the council's Planning Policy team have developed and improved the Local Plan area of the website - making it more accessible and user friendly.

As a result of this hard work the website has now been commended by The British Cartographic Society in the Avenza Award for Electronic Mapping.

Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: "Well done to our hard working planning team who have worked diligently alongside Global Mapping to achieve a Local Plan website that not only holds lots of useful, relevant information but that is, most importantly, easy to use."

Cllr Adrian Owens, Portfolio Holder for e-government, said: "The Council is committed to providing customer services that are second to none and increasingly the quickest and most convenient way for people to engage with the council is through our website and online services.

"Receiving a commendation for the Local Plan area of the website underlines the commitment that all our staff have to ensuring that all areas of the website are offering the best possible service to our customers."
