Council calls time for licensing
consultation
The District Council is urging people to
comment on the Licensing Act 2003 before the deadline of 31 October
2007.
Everyone is invited to take part in consultation over the
district's licensing policy for pubs, clubs, entertainment venues
and late night food premises.
The policy is updated every 3 years and the suggested changes to
the document can be viewed through the Licensing Act section.
Here you will also find an online comments form where you can log
your opinions and ideas.
Helping to gather feedback from a broad spectrum of the community,
representatives of the licensed trade, other local businesses, the
police and fire services, members of the Council's Crime Reduction
Partnership, legal specialists, residents' groups and cultural
organisations, have already been contacted - but we particularly
want to hear what local residents think too.
Cllr John Baldock, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Health,
said: "We want as many people as possible to take part in the
public consultation to ensure that our policy fully reflects the
needs of everyone in the district. The deadline is fast
approaching, so I would anyone who has yet to make comment to make
sure they do so before the end of October."
Hard copies of the document are available by calling our Licensing
Team on 01695 585015. You can also contact Licensing or send
comments via the teams email: licensing.enquiries@westlancsdc.gov.uk
or by writing into: Public Protection and Licensing Manager, West
Lancashire District Council, Westec house, Derby Street, Ormskirk,
