Have your say on Briars Brook Conservation
Area
Residents are being invited to give their views
on the important review of Briars Brook Conservation Area in
Lathom.
The appraisal is designed to identify if any changes need to be
made to the present conservation area boundary and sets out the
historical context of the area, highlighting the buildings, places
and features that make it special. It also identifies how this
important historic area can best be preserved and enhanced.
Letters have gone out to residents in the area containing details
of the proposals. A public exhibition has also been arranged to
give the wider community the opportunity to comment.
The exhibition will take place on Wednesday 24 October between 3pm
and 7pm at The Orangery, Briars Hall Hotel, Lathom. Here residents
will be able to talk to Council Officers and examine copies of the
appraisal documents.
Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: "I really hope
that people take the opportunity to have their say. Briars Brook is
a very picturesque area and by attending the exhibition residents
can learn all about how Briars Brook has developed over the years
and also use the opportunity to share their views on how it can be
further enhanced in the future."
Written comments must be received by the Council by Friday 2
November 2007. Responses will then be reported to the Council's
Cabinet later in the year before a final decision will be taken on
whether to adopt the appraisal document.
