Council's Customer Service team scoops top
award!
It's official - the District Council's
Customer Service Point in Skelmersdale is the cream of the crop
after winning a prestigious national award.
Fending off competition from some of the UK's top companies,
Skelmersdale Customer Service Point (the CSP) has been hailed
"Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year" in the National
Customer Service Awards held at the Grosvenor Hotel, London, on 18
September.
In one of the most acclaimed categories, the CSP was up against
seven other finalists - double the amount of many of the other
awards due to the number of quality contenders vying for the
title.
Judges were looking for a team that offered day-in, day-out superb
customer service skills to meet customer needs and, despite being
up against big private sector names like Barclays, BT and the RAC,
the Council's CSP brought home the coveted prize.
The Leader of the Council, Cllr Geoff Roberts, said: "I am thrilled
that Skelmersdale Customer Service Point has won this prestigious
award. Our advisors rotate around both the Skelmersdale and
Ormskirk branches, so this really is a reflection of the hard work
and commitment of the whole team.
"Providing excellent customer service is a top priority for the
council. Our staff have even gone as far as volunteering to take
their breaks outside of the peak lunchtime period to help provide
higher staffing levels during the midday rush - with staff as
dedicated and customer focused as this, it comes as no surprise to
me that they have won this award. It's very much deserved."
