Christmas and New Year Message from the
Chairman
It’s been an honour to be Chairman of the West Lancashire
District Council this year. As Chairman I’ve represented the
Council at many official functions, events to educate and inspire
our wonderful young people, and occasions to recognise the special
achievements of people in the community.
A particular thank you goes to all the people that attended the
Christmas lights switch-on in Ormskirk and made the night such a
success. I must also mention the staff from West Lancashire
District Council who work tirelessly to make the area such a great
place to live, work and visit.
My very best wishes go to those who are ill at home or in
hospital this Christmas and I wish you a speedy recovery. May I ask
you all to remember your neighbours at this time of year,
especially the elderly and those living alone.
As we approach a period of recession, 2009 may be tough for many
families, but I’m sure the community spirit I’ve seen in West
Lancashire will see us through these challenging times.
Finally, I would like to wish all the people of West Lancashire
a happy Christmas and a peaceful new year.
Cllr Cyril Ainscough
Chairman, West Lancashire District Council
