Christmas surprises galore
at Chapel Gallery
Stuck for gift ideas for Christmas?
Then why not visit the contemporary craft shop at Ormskirk’s Chapel
Gallery, which is a hidden gem of wonders.
You will find that the shop is full
of unusual and unique present ideas for loved ones.
For women there’s lots of
eye-catching jewellery and pretty bags. For the men there’s unusual
cufflinks and leather-bound diaries. Parents can also pick up some
cute stocking fillers for their children. There is also a great
range of seasonal decorations and individual, handcrafted cards for
that special festive touch.
Did you know that you can even buy your favourite piece of
artwork under the ‘Own Art’ scheme, which makes it easy and
affordable for everyone to buy contemporary works of art and craft.
It is even possible to commission something unique by an artist you
admire without having to stump up the cash in one go. You can
borrow up to £2,000, or as little as £100, and pay back the loan in
10 monthly instalments - interest free, subject to status. For more
details please contact the gallery.
Whilst enjoying shopping away from the bustle of town, you can
also visit the Gallery’s latest exhibition, Objects of Desire,
which showcases the work of twenty artists and includes quirky
ceramics, fairy characters, beautiful enamel pieces and glasswork.
All can be purchased and taken away in time for Christmas. The
Youth Open exhibition, ‘Out of this World’ is also well worth a
visit too.
If you’re exhausted with all that shopping, why not visit the
café and treat yourself to one of the seasonal specials.
Cllr Geoff Hammond, Portfolio
Holder for Community Services, said:"Finding special presents can
be such a hard task but at Chapel Gallery there are so many unusual
items you will be spoiled for choice. It’s also a great opportunity
to check out the latest exhibition and catch up with friends over a
coffee in the café."
Visit the Gallery, off St Helens Road, anytime from 10am to
4.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday. The café is open from 10am to 4pm.
Entrance is free.
