Dog Day at Digmoor Community Centre
Don’t forget Responsible Dog Ownership Day comes to Digmoor
Community Centre, Skelmersdale on Saturday 28 June between 10am and
5pm.
The day is part of this year’s Dogs Trust National Poop Scoop
Week. There will be free doggy health checks from the P.D.S.A. and
our Dog Control Officers will be on hand to provide information and
advice about an array of dog-related matters. A free Micro Chipping
service will also be available for a limited period during the day
for those dog owners in receipt of benefits.
National Poop Scoop Week runs from 23 to 29 June 2008 and this
year’s motto is "Grab it, Bag it, Bin it!" To help with this you
can order free poop scoop bags from our website, all you have to do
is fill in the form - www.westlancsdc.gov.uk/dogs
- and we will pop them in the post.
Cllr Geoff Hammond, Portfolio Holder for Community Services,
said: "We recognise that most dog owners are responsible and clean
up after their pets. There is still the small minority that give
the rest a bad name. We hope this event will encourage people to
think before they walk away from their dog’s mess and help keep our
streets, parks and public places clean."
