Spring cut for West Lancashire

Spring cut for West Lancashire

To make the most of West Lancashire’s green garden reputation, grass cutting and planting has started for the spring.

With the warmer months just around the corner, the Council’s Grounds Maintenance Team has started its intensive programme to ensure that the landscape is in pristine condition for the spring season.

The teams will be cutting the grass at football pitches, sheltered accommodation areas, parks, open spaces, highways and housing estates across the district in order to keep the area clean, green and tidy.

Once finished, residents and visitors will be able to relax in the beautiful surroundings of the district and enjoy the countryside and other public open spaces.

Cllr David Westely, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene Management, said: "We have lots of pretty outdoor garden scenery and greenery which we have to maintain and spring is a crucial time of year for us because we have to make sure that the grass is cut and that the planting work is carried out so that the area is brought to life in an array of colour for the warmer months. It also helps us to ensure that we maintain our excellent reputation of having a landscape to be proud of."
