Fun for all the family at Chapel Gallery
Storytelling, music, performing arts, painting and lots more is
on offer for all the family at Ormskirk’s flagship Chapel
Gallery.
The popular arts centre has recently launched its very first
brand new family friendly activities programme to enhance its
already excellent facilities.
Every Saturday the Gallery will provide a room dedicated to
creative pastimes for both the parents and children to enjoy.
Visitors can also meet the Gallery’s friendly team or join in the
specially designed activities to accompany the present exhibition
on show.
In addition, there will be one or two special events planned for
each month from storytelling and design to drama and drawing!
For example, on 31 May it will be music mayhem, where you can
try your hand making a beat, singing or testing your keyboard
skills. Sessions are 10.30am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
On 7 June there will be a workshop titled, ‘Is it a bird? Is it
a plane? No it’s a superhero!’ The idea is that professional artist
Angie Thompson will show people how to make their own comic strip,
from 1pm to 3.30pm. Or why not try creating a group family portrait
on 21 June.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said:"The Gallery
really does offer something for all the family and with the
introduction of this brand new programme based on family-friendly
activities it’s sure to suit the creative side of both adults and
youngsters alike."
Sessions are either free or a small charge will be made for
materials. Due to popular demand places must be booked in advance
and adults must accompany young people attending.
