This year’s Big Draw is ‘Out Of This
World!’
Imaginative, unusual activity will be taking place at the
biggest drawing event of the year at Ormskirk’s Chapel Gallery -
which will be ‘Out of this World!’
West Lancashire District Council’s Arts Development Team is
encouraging creative artists of every age to join in this year’s
national event, ‘The Big Draw’ on Saturday 18 October, which aims
to promote the traditional skills of drawing.
This year’s topic is all about using drawing to engage with the
past, present and future.
Participants will be encouraged to design and draw something
that you might find in the future. It could be a clock that can
turn back time, a robot that vacuums, or even have Martians for
neighbours.
Young and old alike can book a place on the workshop facilitated
by popular Up Holland artist, Matthew Roby, or just turn up on the
day. He will be on hand to inspire people with his wild imagination
and inventive ideas!
Cllr Geoff Hammond, Portfolio Holder for Community Services,
said: "This family friendly event is free and encourages children
and adults to get thinking and see the different ways in which they
can express themselves and create their own imaginative futures.
Participants of all ages will be able to push the boundaries and
experiment using a variety of drawing techniques that really
stretch the imagination. I’m sure we’ll have lots of people come
along to the workshop. So what are you waiting for - put your name
down to get drawing!"
The event is free so to book a place or for more details please
