What’s important to you?
The District Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committees are
inviting local residents to submit ideas to be included in their
work programmes for 2009/10.
The Committees’ aims are to provide real benefits to the people
of West Lancashire and through their work bring forward appropriate
recommendations to Cabinet and Council.
Topics can cover any area of the District Council’s work and in
some cases the work of partner organisations that might have
significance for the local community in West Lancashire.
Reviews recently completed have included ‘Alcohol and Associated
Problems’ and ‘Speeding Traffic with particular reference to 20mph
speed limits near schools.’
Leader of the Council, Cllr Ian Grant, said: “The reviews
carried out by the Overview and Scrutiny Committees have gleaned
valuable in-sight into the problems and issues facing our
communities today and can lead to significant improvements for
residents. While it may not be the case that all suggestions
will make it into the Overview and Scrutiny Committees’ work
programmes all ideas are, nevertheless, welcome.”
If you have a suggestion that you think might be suitable – let
us know. Email your ideas to member.services@westlancsdc.gov.uk
or call 01695 585016/585017. The deadline for topic
suggestions for the 2009/10 work programmes is Friday 15 May
2009.
