Dial ‘B’ for Business Directory
If you’re looking to do business in West Lancashire but don’t
know where to start looking then we have the answer - our new A to
Z directory!
The Borough Council is
set to launch its brand new West Lancashire Business Directory
2009/10 - a comprehensive listing of a wide range of companies of
all sizes operating in the area.
If you find your business has not
yet been included, the new directory is interactive and allows you
to add and amend your business details. There are also additional
options that allow you to market your business to others across the
borough - visit www.westlancs.gov.uk/businessdirectory.
It is primarily aimed at the
business community although the general public will also find it
useful as it gives readers lots of information at their fingertips
all in one booklet.
So whether you’re looking to source
products or services, or seeking new trade partners, the directory
will point you in the right direction. It also provides an overview
of the West Lancashire business scene, a guide to local sources of
business advice and support and a review of the plans that are in
place to regenerate parts of our area.
As the directory will be
distributed both locally and regionally it is hoped that it will
encourage companies from far and wide to do business in the
borough, as West Lancashire is uniquely placed to interact and
develop business links with all three of the North West’s city
regions - Liverpool, Manchester and Preston.
Councillor Adrian Owens, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and
Estates, said: "This is the first time that we have produced such a
comprehensive business directory and we hope that it will encourage
companies to find their perfect business partners and really put us
on the economic map.
"We cannot underestimate the
importance of supply chains and how vital they are in developing
and sustaining local economies and reducing the carbon footprint.
If you are based in West Lancashire, I hope you will use the
directory to develop trading links with other businesses in the
Borough. If, on the other hand, you are based outside West
Lancashire, I hope the directory will also help to spotlight the
range and quality of our local companies and the wealth of business
opportunities they can offer."
The development and production of
this directory has been made possible through the Enterprising West
Lancashire project, funded from the Northwest Regional Development
Agency through the West Lancashire Local Strategic Partnership’s
Investing in Business Programme.
