End of Summer Festival
Bring your holidays to an action-packed grand finale by joining
us for the ‘End of Summer Festival’ at our flagship Coronation
Park.
The town centre park in Ormskirk will play host to a
jam-packed fun day for all the family on Monday 31 August to mark
the end of the park’s summer events programme.
From 11am to 5pm there will be a variety of activities, music
and entertainment and competition for people of all ages to enjoy.
There will be sports and bowls sessions, flower, fruit and
vegatable competitions and even art and photography
competitions!
Leading up to the finale, take advantage of the music sessions
in the park every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. Singers or
groups will take centre stage at the bandstand to entertain
visitors and residents with their easy-listening sounds from folk
and jazz to contemporary artists.
Whilst there, visitors can also take advantage of the beautiful
landscape, let the children use the play equipment or even have a
picnic listening to the sounds of the band.
Cllr Fowler, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: "We
want to make sure that Coronation Park is a real community facility
and our summer programme is jam-packed with events, music and
activities for children and adults to enjoy. So it’s quite fitting
that we have an ‘End of Summer Festival’ to finish it off on a high
note. All our events are free so make sure you come along and make
the most of warm weather and fantastic facilities at the park."
Don’t forget that there are still lots of children’s activities
such as sports sessions and wildlife safaris happening at the park
until 27 August so that youngsters don’t get bored during the
school holidays.
