Face the people with crime
issues
Do you have a burning question about a
crime issue? Now is your opportunity to ask at a brand new ‘Face
the People’ session.
For the first time ever, the West
Lancashire Community Safety Partnership has organised a special
public meeting on Wednesday 18 March to engage with residents and
give feedback about what they are doing to fight crime and the fear
of crime.
A panel of senior representatives from
the District Council, Police, Fire, Primary Care Trust and County
Council will meet the public to hear their issues and let them know
about action that they have taken or will take to tackle those
concerns. There will be a particular focus around alcohol on the
night too.
Dave Guest, BBC North West’s Social
Affairs Correspondent, will compere the event at Edge Hill
University’s Wilson Centre, St Helens Road, Ormskirk and will
encourage participation from the audience on the night.
It’s a free, ticket-only event with
refreshments at 7pm, ready for a 7.30pm start. More details will be
confirmed nearer the time.
Cllr Paul Greenall, Portfolio Holder
for Community Safety, said: "This is the first time we have
organised this type of meeting, which provides a great opportunity
to listen to community concerns, inform residents about actions
that we are taking in response to local priorities and trying to
solve problems together. Ensuring that we engage with our local
communities is crucial in supporting increased feelings of public
confidence and reassurance. By all working together we can ensure
that West Lancashire remains one of the safest places to live, work
and visit."
