Online Prize Winner Revealed
A West Lancashire resident landed an extra bonus when she
visited the Council’s website - she also won £100 of vouchers.
Margaret Roughley, from Hesketh Bank, scooped the quarterly
prize draw for people who use an online service on West Lancs
District Council’s website.
When Mrs Roughley completed an online survey to give her
opinions about local issues, she also entered a draw together with
hundreds of other residents to win £100 of vouchers.
Hearing the news, Mrs Roughley, said: "I can't believe I have
actually won something! I always use the West Lancs website to get
in touch with the council because it’s quick and convenient and
much easier than writing a letter or filling in a paper form. It’s
really simple to use, even if you’re not a computer expert, and the
fact that you could win £100 is fantastic!"
Cllr David Westley, portfolio holder for IT, said: "There are
many online services available when visiting the Council’s website.
For example, you can pay your council bills, comment on planning
applications and take part in surveys.
"We launched the prize draw last year to encourage people to use
the website as a way to contact the council. And I’m delighted to
say that it seems to be working as the number of people using
online services is increasing all the time. If you don’t have a
computer you can also go online at your local library. So next time
you visit our website, remember to enter the prize draw and you
could be the lucky winner."
