Create your own masterpiece this summer
holidays
Explore your creative side this summer and make sure you put
your name down for the holiday workshops at Chapel Gallery.
It’s a great opportunity for young people to have fun, get messy
and learn brand new skills by signing up for one of the fun classes
during the summer break.
The workshops are for 8 to 16 year olds and those who book will
be working with professional artists on everything from painting
and sculpture to theatre and puppet making. There will be the
chance to make a carnival mask, create a crazy costume or make your
own hanging mobile or sun catcher!
The workshops start from Wednesday 29 July and run every
Wednesday and Friday until 28 August but places are snapped up
quickly so make sure to book.
Cllr Andrew Fowler, Portfolio Holder for Community Services,
said: "Youngsters always look forward to the summer holidays but
they can quickly get bored if they’ve not much to do, which is why
these workshops are ideal. It’s a real mixed bag of art activities
that are fun, exciting and diverse. It’s a great opportunity for
children to let their creative talents shine through and meet
like-minded youngsters in a friendly environment. But hurry as
places are snapped up quickly!"
All workshops run from 10.00am to 3.30pm and are individually
priced, ranging from £7.50 through to £12.50 depending on the
materials. Participants are also advised to wear appropriate
clothing in case there are any spills.
