Christmas online
The festive season is now underway online at
www.westlancs.gov.uk/christmas.
The Council has set up a special Christmas
section on the website to make it easy for residents to find all
the information they need about services and events during the
holiday period.
The Christmas pages give information
about:
- The switch-on of Christmas lights in Ormskirk and
Skelmersdale
- Christmas markets in Ormskirk
- Refuse and recycling collections
- Opening times for the council offices
- Events for adults and children in the run-up to Christmas
Information is also available about how to
recycle your Christmas tree; tips for a greener Christmas; safety
advice, help and travel information.
The pages will be constantly updated in the
run-up to Christmas to make sure everything you need to know can be
found at the touch of a button.
Cllr Ian Grant, Leader of the Council, said:
“People are always busy at Christmas time so it makes sense to
bring together all our information in one place - www.westlancs.gov.uk/christmas
. On top of that our website is always open for business, which
means that people can access information and services throughout
the festive period, whenever it suits them.
“The website is convenient, quick and easy and
it’s available 24-hours-a day, 365-days a year. What’s more, if
people use the website they’ll help keep Council Tax bills
down, because it costs us six times more to provide information and
services by phone than through the website.”
More than 100 services are now available
online through the Council website www.westlancs.gov.uk/doitonline.
You can also pay bills online through the secure payment system.
You can access services 24/7 without having to make a journey to
see us or pick up the phone: it’s convenient, quick and easy.
