Give views on leisure centres
West Lancashire Borough Council’s Executive Overview and
Scrutiny Committee will consider the annual leisure trust update on
1 October 2009.
The sports centres and swimming pools are operated by the West
Lancashire Community Leisure Trust on behalf of the Council. The
facilities, which are managed on the Trust’s behalf by Serco, are:
Park Pool in Ormskirk; Nye Bevan Pool in Skelmersdale; Skelmersdale
Sports Centre; Banks Leisure Centre and Burscough Fitness and
Racquets Leisure Centre.
Cllr Rob Bailey, Chairman of the Executive Overview and Scrutiny
Committee, said: "Consideration of this update at the meeting gives
us an important opportunity to scrutinise how well the sports
centres and swimming pools operated by the Trust are being provided
in West Lancashire. We are keen to hear from any member of the
public who has suggestions for how the sports centres and swimming
pools might be improved. We know that the people who use the
facilities often have constructive ideas, and sometimes complaints,
so I am encouraging people to let us have your views."
How to submit suggestions
Suggestions must be submitted by 5pm on Monday 28 September.
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting will be held at the
Council Offices at 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk at 7.30pm on 1
October. A presentation will be given by the West Lancashire
Community Leisure Trust. The meeting will be held in public.
Suggestions from individuals cannot be presented at the meeting,
however, and should be made through the methods listed above.
