What’s important to you?
The Borough Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committees are
inviting local residents to submit ideas to be included in their
work programmes for 2011/12.
The Committees aim to provide real benefits to the people of
West Lancashire and through their work bring forward appropriate
recommendations to Cabinet and Council.
Topics can cover any area of the Borough Council’s work and in
some cases the work of partner organisations that might have
significance for the local community in West Lancashire.
Reviews recently completed have included ‘Car Parking in West
Lancashire,’ ‘The Role of the Utility Companies in Supporting the
Delivery of Development and Regeneration in the Borough’ and
‘Governance Arrangements – Tenant Services’.
The Leader of the Council, Cllr Ian Grant, said: “The reviews
carried out by the Overview and Scrutiny Committees have provided a
valuable insight into the problems and issues facing our
communities today and can lead to significant improvements for
residents. While it may not be the case that all suggestions will
make it into the Overview and Scrutiny Committees’ work programmes
all ideas are, nevertheless, welcome.”
If you have a suggestion that you think might be suitable – let
us know. Email your ideas to member.services@westlancs.gov.uk or
call 01695 585016/585017. The deadline for topic suggestions for
the 2011/12 work programmes is Thursday 2 June 2011.
