‘Spot On’ for district’s rural neighbours
Rural villages in West Lancashire can enjoy professional arts on
their doorsteps, thanks to a special tour coming to the
district.
‘Spot On’ will be appearing at out-of-town venues in the area
with a variety of entertaining performances to suit all tastes so
that those residents who live away from all the town centre action
can still enjoy a bit of drama!
Cllr Geoff Hammond, Portfolio Holder for Community Services,
said: "Spot On is a great way of giving people who live in rural
areas the chance to access the arts on their own doorstep. Usually,
a lot of arts events tend to be centred around the town centres so
this is a perfect opportunity for them to enjoy something without
having to travel too far!"
Don’t miss the following performances:
· Dracula by the Inner State Theatre is on at Parbold Village
Hall on Friday 24 October, starting 7.30pm. Contact 01257

· Rough and Rowdy Ways by the Bob Hall Show is on at the Older
People’s Club in Burscough on Saturday 8 November, starting 7.30pm.

· Mervyn Stutter performs An Evening With…on Sunday 16 November,

The planned events form part of Lancashire’s Rural Touring
Network, which enables residents who live in rural areas to see
live productions without having to travel too far. It is supported
by West Lancashire District Council and has a membership of four
community venues, mostly village halls, who collectively promote a
lively and diverse programme of events each year.
