Vote for your favourite play area for Beacon Country
Park
Now is your chance to choose the perfect design for a brand new
inclusive play area at the award-winning Beacon Country Park.
Earlier this year the Big Lottery Fund awarded the District
Council funding to improve access to play in West Lancashire for
those harder to reach groups.
Part of this funding, together with a contribution from the
District Council is to provide a play area at Beacon Country Park,
Up Holland, to complement an on-going initiative to improve access
to the countryside for people with disabilities.
A selection of play manufacturers have produced exciting,
innovative designs which offer a fun environment to play.
The designs are currently on display at Beacon Country Park
visitor centre and online on the your views page where people will have the
chance to vote for their favourite design. The deadline for votes
is Friday 15th August.
Cllr Geoff Hammond, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: "Don’t
miss your chance to vote for your favourite design to ensure that
we build the most popular play facilities to suit all abilities.
Beacon Country Park is a popular site that attracts lots of
visitors. So this new idea to build a play area specially designed
for disabled access will really enhance the facilities on site and
ensure that there are leisure opportunities for all."
Once a design has been chosen, the new play facility will be
built on the grass area adjacent to the visitor centre.
