Applying for a council property

Applying for a council property

council housing

We own approximately 6350 council houses, flats and bungalows across the district and work together with other social landlords and the private sector to maximise housing opportunities for residents.

In most areas we have high demand for our council homes, particularly houses and accommodation that is suitable for families. We are unable to offer a home to everyone who makes a request, so we have a system in place to help allocate properties. For more details on the allocation system, please follow the 'How to apply for a council property' link below.

We have different types and sizes of homes across the district. Find out more by downloading the General Needs Housing Stock List and Sheltered Housing Stock List.
