Rangers: volunteer ranger service

Would you like to help conservation work in the countryside by becoming a volunteer Ranger?

The Countryside Ranger Service is very keen to attract volunteers to take part in a wide variety of activities.

Becoming a volunteer Ranger is especially useful for anyone who is thinking of developing a career in countryside management as it gives the opportunity for real practical experience. Practical conservation is an obvious area to start, with training available in woodland and wetland management, access improvements, constructing countryside furniture, and much more.

If your career ambitions lie in countryside recreation and visitor services then becoming a volunteer can also give you valuable knowledge and experience and help you develop a full working knowledge of what Rangers do.

You'll also be welcome if you just want to get involved on an informal basis to do your bit for the environment - your support will be greatly appreciated. You can attend at any time, weekdays or weekends, and need no prior experience as training will be given. The latest task programme is now available from the Countryside Rangers.

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer ranger, get in touch.
