hunters hill country park countrysideHunter's Hill, West Lancashire's newest woodland area, was opened in spring 2007. This former quarry was reclaimed by the council who have transformed the area to make the most of its beautiful woodlands, shrubs and rock faces by creating footpaths, wheelchair access, seating and picnic areas as well as scenic view points.

Visitors can wander through the luscious woodlands, discover the hidden wildlife, take in the extraordinary views of the coastline or just go for a picnic.

The rangers are currently developing information boards for the site and it is also planned to set up a 'Friends of Hunter's Hill' group to help with conservation and maintenance works. Please contact the Rangers for more information.

The work at Hunters Hill has been funded by the council and Natural England, through Defra's Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund.
