Getting older

Older People's Champion

To ensure that older people are at the heart of our council’s activity - we have appointed an Older People’s Champion. The role of the champion is to advise the council on issues that support and encourage active, independent and healthy lives for older people.

Benefits

Leisure facilities

As well as the usual facilities you'd expect from our sports centres and pools, many centres also run activities like active retirement classes, and offer free admission to senior citizens. Sessions at swimming pools are also discounted.

Don't forget that we also manage some beautiful areas of countryside park in West Lancashire and have some great places to visit. If you are interested in getting involved in organisations in your area, our A-Z of clubs and organisations should help you find something of interest.
