West Lancashire District Council

Rural economy study

Rural Economy Study
West Lancashire District Council commissioned an independant research study to investigate:
· how the rural economy of the district works
· what types of businesses there are
· how these businesses are doing
· what they think they need to be more successful, and the barriers they encounter which could prevent future growth

The report is available to download Rural Economy Study.

. This information will help the Council and the LSP to decide the best way to go about helping businesses and to regenerate the rural areas in the future.

Strategy
A suggested Action Plan is contained in the Study and the Council and LSP are currently assessing how to take forward priority activities for the rural areas of the District over the next 10 to 15 years.

The project has been funded by the North West Development Agency through the West Lancashire Investing in Business Programme.
