Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)
What are SPDs?
Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide extra guidance or
detail in relation to a particular policy. In some senses, they are
similar to the Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) notes
prepared under the previous planning system. But SPDs differ from
SPGs in two main ways:
- Firstly, the Council will consult and involve the community
when preparing SPDs;
- Secondly, SPDs need to be subject to "Sustainability Appraisal"
(examining their environmental impacts).

Details of other SPDs being prepared will be posted on this web

will be prepared over the coming year or so, please see the
Council's Local Development Scheme.
