Domestic clinical waste collections

We provide a free collection service for clinical waste for private households, as well as offering information and advice. 

 

What we collect

We will provide all customers with special bin bags and boxes for sharp items. Items should be left out for collection in a secure area by 6.30am.

 

Examples of clinical waste include:

  • In a Yellow Bag: swabs or soiled dressings, human or animal tissue, waste from treatment areas  
  • In a Sharps Box: syringes, needles or other sharp instruments or glass

How to arrange a clinical waste collection

We will then let you know how often your collections will be and when they will start. We try to arrange a first collection within five working days of receiving your initial enquiry.
